The Cheapest Maid Service What Does it really Mean?

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

Being cheap in the cleaning business doesn't make senseDo you really want the cheapest maid service in your home?  Since our economy has been in decline, many of us seek to cut costs any way we can, and often maid service costs are looked at as a way to cut costs.  While being thrifty makes sense at the grocery store, paying less for maid service fees may end up costing you more in the long run.

Cost Vs. Quality

The whole point of hiring a cleaning service is to give yourself time to relax and not worry about the state of your home.  If you find a cleaning service rate that is low, but the quality of the service is poor, you are wasting your time and money.  Should you pay the cost for housecleaning service if you have to clean-up once your maid leaves?  Why would you want to have to clean up after your maid?  More often than not, you get what you pay for; trying to cut costs by choosing a cleaning service with a low rate can make your life more stressful.

What to Look for in a Columbus Housekeeping Service

A maid service costs, but it shouldn’t be a source of tension and stress.  The best cleaning service will provide excellent care for your home at a reasonable price.  Remember that you are not just paying maid service fees; you are buying time to spend with your family.  Look for a cleaning agency that:

  • Has a proven track record
  • Maintains relationships with loyal clients
  • Puts client care first
  • Cares for employees and their families
  • Ensures that employees are trustworthy and drug-free
  • Guarantees their work
  • Has won multiple awards and received an A+ rating from the BBB
  • Cares about and gives back to the community
  • Pay their taxes and their employees’ wages – not as an independent contractor.
  • Is insured and covers their employees with Worker’s Compensation
  • Cleans in Powell and Dublin

More Value for You

The true cost for an award winning home cleaning service may be a little more than cheaper services, but you will come out the winner.  More Time for You is a company whose name says it all!  They have been providing quality, caring service to their clients for the past 12 years.  Hiring this trusted name may cost a little extra, but the value you will receive is worth far more than what you will pay in maid service fees!

GREEN CLEANING PRODUCTS EFFECTIVE?

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

Green cleaning by More Time for YouAre green cleaning products for you? We have all heard about how green cleaning products can be toxic and dangerous for the environment and our health.  So why haven’t we all made the switch to green home cleaning?  Well, many people feel like a green cleaning product isn’t effective.  Fortunately, that isn’t true.  There are many clean green cleaning products that are very effective.  You can even make effective green cleaners at home.  You don’t need chemicals to get results.  Try making these products at home.

  1. You can clean almost anything by combining equal parts vinegar and water.  If you’d like some extra scent, try adding a few drops of tea tree oil.  It’s a natural antibacterial agent, too.  For just pennies, you have the perfect all-purpose green home cleaning agent.
  2. To clean sinks, toilets, or bathtubs, sprinkle the area with baking soda.  Then spray it with your all-purpose cleaner.  The vinegar will make the baking soda foam up.  Give it a quick scrub, and you’re done.
  3. To make your own green cleaning product for a glass and window cleaner, add a small amount of rubbing alcohol to your mixture of all-purpose cleaner.  The rubbing alcohol prevents spots.
  4. Commercial drain cleaners are horribly toxic.  You can make your own by pouring baking soda down the drain, then adding vinegar.  Let the mixture work its magic for a few minutes, and then flush with water.
  5. Try microfiber cleaning cloths.  There are several brands on the market to choose from, and they clean without using any chemicals at all.  You can pick up a set of microfiber cleaning cloths for use on the kitchen, bathroom, stainless steel, and dusting hard surfaces.

Whether you use a green cleaning business to clean your home or you do your green home cleaning yourself, you can get a clean, safe home without dangerous chemicals.  You probably have the ingredients you need in your kitchen cabinet right now.

HOW TO CLEAN A HOUSE

Friday, January 20th, 2012

More Time for You Steps to Clean a HouseHow to clean a house – it’s a simple question with a long answer.  One of the first things people want to know about cleaning is where to start.  If your house is large, or really messy, you may not know where to begin.  Even if your house is usually well-kept, you may feel overwhelmed about cleaning it when you’re expecting guests or overnight company.

Here’s what you need to know about cleaning your house before the holidays.

  1.  Start in the kitchen.  When you’re doing a big, top to bottom cleaning job, clean this room first.  Take down any decorations that you might have on top of the cabinets.  They tend to get greasy from food residue, so wash them down and return them to their places.  Then you can wipe down the cabinets and appliances.  Save the kitchen floor for last so that you don’t spill more dirt and debris onto the floor while you’re cleaning.  When everything else in the kitchen is done, you can mop the kitchen floor and leave it to dry while you work on other rooms.
  2. Dust.  We tend to not notice the dust as it builds up because it accumulates so gradually.  Try to look around with a fresh eye.  Wipe down the dust from bookcases, dressers, and televisions.  Be sure to check ceiling fan blades, too. They’re a prime place for dust to build up.  Walk through the house and check the corners and ceilings for cobwebs, too.
  3. Scrub the bathtubs, sinks and toilets.  One of the most important places to think about cleaning is the bathroom.  Guests can overlook a dusty bookcase, but not a dirty bathroom.  Scour your toilet bowls and sinks shortly before visitors arrive. If your company is staying overnight, make sure the tub and shower are pristine, as well.

Your house can be sparkling clean with just a little effort and a few good tips.

Tom Coffey – Architect

More Time for You Architect - Tom CoffetMaking a decision to construct a building is not an easy task.  If you have never built and are naïve to the process, then one of your first and very critical choices you will make is your selection of your architect.   Do not, let me repeat; do not minimize the importance of this decision.

For you Seinfeld fans- you do not want George Costanza as your architect.  Your architect will be your guardian angel throughout the process.  They will help on the creative side.  They will coordinate with the legions of engineers and surveyors whom you’ll need.  They will represent you like an attorney through Planning and Zoning and any Historical reviews you will have to endure.  They will monitor, mollify and modify as your project proceeds.  They will watch it progress like a nurturing parent does their children.  They will be as excited and proud of the project as you will be when it is completed.

Let me share from an owner’s perspective the single most important factor in choosing your architect – passion.  I think by default most architects are technically competent to design a structure. However, not everyone will relish the daunting task of dealing with small business owners not knowing what they are getting in to.

Pam and I were fortunate enough to know Tom Coffey, a local architect.  Tom is passionate about his profession.  Tom is professional about his passion.  Tom and his team of experts helped us to create a unique building bearing our brand.  His meticulous attention to details and his commitment to making sure we were happy never wavered during the entire process.

Tom’s design enabled us to retain an 80 year old Oak tree.  He crafted a structure that meet our business needs and conformed to our budget limitations.  Tom always went above and beyond on all aspects of the project.  When construction was near completion, he sacrificed a Sunday afternoon to help us with the final walk through.

We are delighted to recommend Tom and would invite anyone considering a project to contact us or visit our building to see first-hand the design and finished product.  Thanks Tom, helped create a wonderful new home for More Time for You.
