Should your housecleaning service be drug free?

There are several reasons why you want to make sure that your housecleaning service performs random drug tests on their employees on a regular basis. Here’s why:

1) A maid service that is willing to spend the money to conduct these screenings cares about the quality of their service. Random screenings can be expensive, but conducting them will bring in better employees — ones who care about doing the best job possible. Any company that is not willing to screen their employees may also not be conducting proper background checks. And since their housecleaners are the ones who will be walking into your house, wouldn’t you rather choose the company that cares enough to do drug screenings and background checks?

2) You and your belongings will be safer. How many times have you heard stories on the news about people robbing houses to get money to pay for their drugs? These types of things are reported in the media a lot. This doesn’t mean that housecleaners who are on drugs will rob you blind, but why take the chance? All it takes is for one person to give in to the temptation and walk off with one of your meaningful heirlooms to sell for drug money. Make sure that the maid service employees who are given free reign of your house on a daily or weekly basis are not on drugs, and you will have peace of mind.

3) Drug addicted maid service employees may not do as good a cleaning job as their drug free counterparts. Since you are paying for someone to remove all of the dirt, grime, dust and potentially harmful germs like e.coli and salmonella from your house, wouldn’t you want that someone to be fully alert and capable of doing the best job possible? Someone who is on drugs may cut corners and leave your house contaminated.
